Like with most sequels to such as highly regarded predecessor they never quiet live up to the hype behind them and Caesar IV is no different with it failing to capture the depth and freedom offered to Rome building fanatics in third with smaller maps to build upon. While options may feel limited, if your looking for a standalone 3D city builder while conveniently forgetting about playing Caesar III then this game is fully recommended. On the plus side it does still feature over 100 structures and 30 tradeable goods while the 3D graphics stand the test of time for a building simulator.
